  • 500g wheat flour
  • 350ml of warm water
  • 10g dry organic yeast
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • Extra virgin olive oil (for greasing)

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix the wheat flour with the dry yeast and salt.
  2. Add the warm water to the flour mixture and stir until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead vigorously for about 10 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a bowl greased with olive oil, cover with a clean cloth and let it rest in a warm place for 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  5. After the resting time, preheat the oven to 220°C and place a baking tray inside the oven to heat.
  6. Divide the dough into two equal pieces and form each piece into a thin rectangle, about 2 cm thick.
  7. Remove the hot pan from the oven and place the dough pieces on it. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the loaves are golden on top and sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  8. Remove the loaves from the oven and let cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
