Ingredients:

  • 500g wheat flour
  • 300ml of warm water
  • 10g dry organic yeast
  • 2 tablespoons of flaxseeds
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • Extra virgin olive oil (for greasing)

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix the wheat flour, flax seeds and salt.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the dry yeast with a little warm water. Let it rest for a few minutes until it starts to foam.
  3. Add the yeast mixture to the flour, along with the remaining warm water. Mix well until a homogeneous dough forms.
  4. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a bowl greased with olive oil, cover with a clean cloth and let it rest in a warm place for 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  7. Shape the dough into a loaf of bread and place it on a baking tray greased with olive oil. Make some superficial cuts on the top of the bread.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden on top and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  9. Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
